THE BOOKISH LIFE OF NINA HILL BOOK SUMMARY:

The story revolves around the life of Nina Hill who lives a simple life. She goes to a library where she works in the morning, a perfect job for a book lover, after that she goes with her friends to the quiz show that is a constant part of her life then she comes home to her cat and then repeats the routine every single day.

Nina never knew her father, and her mother never told her about him, according to her she was not sure if she wanted him but she did want Nina. Nina's mother is a news photographer and travels all around the World.

When Candice first had Nina she took her everywhere she went but after a year or two Nina got big and she couldn't travel with Nina so she found an apartment in LA and a nanny too; Louise. Candice would visit Nina three to four times a year with gifts and then go back to her normal life.

Louise was a wonderful nanny. She was caring, loving, and gentle, she was bookish too. She created a simple peaceful life for Nina, came to her college graduation, and then went back to the South to help her daughters. Nina is very close to Louise.

At the start, we are introduced to Nina's job, her boss Liz Quinn who is very friendly. She has a fun life at work, they have fairs and book reads, and they run a program for kids activities divided into three age groups and since Nina is bookish she enjoys every bit of it.

The second part of her life is the quiz show. She has a trivia team by the name 'Book 'Em, Danno' because they were unquestionable when it comes to books. The team has four members Nina, Leah, Carter, and Lauren. Leah and Lauren are Nina's old friends and Carter is the ex-boyfriend of Leah who was too smart to let go of.

Their nemesis is 'You're a Quizzard, Harry' who also has four members, three guys and a girl; Tom, Lisa, Jack, and Paul. 'You're a Quizzard, Harry' is the only challenger they get in East Los Angeles and Nina is very competitive.

Nina has a perfect schedule and has her all week and even month planned out and it's very hard for her to do anything against that schedule. As you can see life is good for Nina but it all changes when she gets to know that she has had a very rich father because he died recently. Nina is invited to his will reading ceremony along with her brothers and sisters which are apparently a lot.

For someone like Nina who just grabs a book whenever she's feeling off, who has genres sorted according to her mood of what she wants to read, it's hard to adjust to something like that. And just when Nina thought it couldn't get any worse, one of her nemeses Tom starts taking interest in her life.

It's a roller coaster ride and how Nina copes with it is very intriguing.

THE BOOKISH LIFE OF NINA HILL QUOTES:

1. Nina shook her head. 'Please' said Liz. Nina sighed. "You have to give me a category." 'Marine life'. "Too easy. A hundred-pound octopus can squeeze through a hole the size of a cherry tomato." 'Kurt Vonnegut.'

(Chapter 1; Page 8)

2. 'I'm in Dubai Mom, at the top of Burj Khalifa' 'Really?' Her Mom sounded so excited. 'How's the view?' Nina sighed. 'No, I'm in Los Angeles, right where you left me.' 'Oh.' Her mom was clearly disappointed Nina hadn't inherited her wanderlust.

(Chapter 2: Page 11)

3. 'You're jealous because she knows more than you do' said Jack. 'She doesn't' said Tom. 'Yes, she does. She seems to know everything.' 'No one knows everything.' ' I heard she works at a bookstore said the final member of the Quizzard team. 'Isn't that cheating? said Jack. Tom looked at him. ' I don't think having a job is cheating, Jack. Lots of people have jobs.

(Chapter 2; Page 18)

4. Liz looked up as she walked in. 'Ooh, did you get one of those for me?'(a croissant). Nina turned and went back across the street. A minute later she had returned. 'Yes, I did, funnily enough.' 'That's so nice of you. How was the trivia thing?' 'We lost.' Liz stared at her. 'What? You never lose'

(Chapter 3: Page 25) ( The friendly boss and competitive Nina)

5. 'How can I help you, Mr.....?' 'Sarkissian. I'm a lawyer for the estate of William Reynolds.' 'OK.' Nina waited. She'd never heard of the guy. Was she supposed to know the name? ' I'm afraid I have some bad news.' The lawyer paused. Nina kept waiting. If it were really bad news, the police would have shown up, right? ' I'm sorry to tell you that your father has died'

(Chapter 3: Page 27) ( The 180-degree shift in Nina's life)

6. Nina stared at him. 'My what now?' 'Your brothers and sisters.' 'I have brothers and sisters?' He coughed. "I'm afraid your father was married three times." 'Just not to my mother.' 'Right' He nodded.
