A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER BOOK SUMMARY:

Pippa Fitz Amobi decided to go for a murder case that shook their town five years ago for her independent project alongside A-levels. She lived with her stepdad, mom, step-brother, and her dog. They were a happy family.

A murder that made the whole Little Kilton hate the Singh's or the other way around. Singh's and Bell's, both families lost members of their family but one was a victim and the other a murderer. Sal Singh was accused of killing Andie Bell, his girlfriend five years ago. But he killed himself shortly afterwards confessing the murder via a text message to his father.

This left the Singhs with a family of three, Ravi Singh lived with his parents isolated from the rest of the town. They were hated by the entire town as the murder left the Bells a family of three as well. Jason Bell, his wife, and their left daughter Becca Bell.

Pip wanted to change that. She wanted to change the status of the Singh family. She didn't want to hurt the Bells, she just wanted to find out the truth.

An investigation that might help understand what went down five years ago. How was Andie Bell killed and Why did Sal take his life? A tough job but not impossible.

Pip was determined to uncover the truth even if it was for a project and that is why Pip decided to visit the Singh house where no one wanted to go. She told Ravi about her intentions and he later decided to join her.

Together they decided to do whatever it took to prove Sal innocent and unveil the truth of Andie's horrendous murder.

A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER BOOK REVIEW:

Holly Jackson understood the assignment. The book is a complete package in terms of content and content (cun-tent). Let me elaborate. The book is a nail-biter, it has friendship, family troubles, complicated relationships, and a cute love story. Not only that, it's written perfectly. It has transcripts of Pip's interviews for her investigation, journal entries, and visual proofs. The book takes you there quite literally.

The book had me hooked from the start to the end. There is nothing I love more than humor along with a good plot. Pip had an amazing bond with her family which was a huge plus; a concerned mother, a chilled-out father, and an annoying younger brother. The bond that develops between Ravi and Pip is entertaining as well. But my winner is always the iconic friendships and this one made my list. Cara and Pip had an unbreakable bond.

The book's plot has the capability of making you ignore your responsibilities and read the book. It provides a detailed analysis of how an investigation is carried out but not the boring kind. I would give this book a 10/5 if I could. It's a masterpiece.

Do you want to read a psychological thriller? This is the book for you.

A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER BOOK QUOTES:

1. Pip's dad stepped in. 'Joshua, try to imagine if everyone judged you because of something your sister had done.'
'All Pip ever does is homework.'
Pip executed a perfect arm-swung cushion job into Joshua's face. Victor held the boy's arms down as he squirmed to retaliate, tickling his ribs.'

(Chapter 2; Page 18)

2. It was an emergency, the text said. An SOS emergency. Pip knew immediately that that could only mean one thing.
She grabbed her car keys, yelled a perfunctory goodbye to Mum and Josh, and rushed out of the front door.
She stopped by the shop on her way to buy a king-size chocolate bar to help mend Lauren's king-size broken heart.
When she pulled up outside Lauren's house, she saw that Cara had had the same exact idea. Yet Cara's post-break-up first-aid kit was more extensive than Pip's; she had also bought a box of tissues, crisps, and dips, and a rainbow array of face mask packets.
'Ready for this?' Pip asked Cara, hip-bumping her in greeting.
'Yep, well prepared for the tears.'

(Chapter 3; Page 21)

3. 'How do you take it then?' Pip asked, resting her rucksack down on one of the dining chairs.
'Milk till it's white and three sugars,' Ravi said over the sputtering-inferno sounds of the kettle.
'Three sugars? Three?'
'I know. I know. Clearly, I'm not sweet enough already.'

(Chapter 4; Page 29)

4. Barney barged past and got there first, launching his muzzle into Ravi's groin. 'No Barney, down,' Pip shouted, rushing forward. 'Sorry, he's a bit friendly.'
'That's no way to talk about your father,' said Victor.
Pip raised his eyebrows at him.

(Chapter 7; Page 52)

5. 'Pippa!' Victor's jokey-but-serious voice sailed up the stairs. 'No boys in bedrooms.'
Pip felt her cheeks flood with heat. She turned so Ravi couldn't see and yelled back, 'We're working on my EPQ! My door is open.'
'OK, that will do!' came the reply.

(Chapter 8; Page 58)

6. Cara cracked her knuckles. 'Dismantling the patriarchy, one tent at a time.' 'Marquee,' Pip corrected.
'Do you want me to hurt you?'
'No-quee.'

(Chapter 10; Page 73-74)

7. It just happened to be a story about six friends, three boys, and three girls who were camping in a marquee in the woods.
'And the birthday girl,' Ant said theatrically, 'is finishing off a whole packet of strawberry laces, the red sweets sticking to her chin like trails of blood.'
'Shut up,' Cara said, mouth full.
'She tells the handsome guy with the torch to shut up.'

(Chapter 10; Page 75-76)

8. 'And he's all "time's ticking, Cara" and it's stressing me out. Have you had the talk with your parents yet?'
'Yeah, a few days ago,' Pip said. 'I've decided on King's College, Cambridge.'
'English?'
Pip nodded.
'You are the worst person to vent to about life plans,' Cara snorted. 'I bet you already know what you want to be when you grow up.'

(Chapter 12; Page 83)
